The Anglo-Jewish Association has decided to postpone submission to the Government of its memorandum on Palestine, which had aroused a great deal of opposition from Zionist groups here, it was announced yesterday at a meeting of the Association’s council.
A. Alexander, chairman of the organization’s Palestine Committee, said that the Association has no intention of entering into negotiations with the Government on Palestine and does not contemplate encroaching on the Jewish Agency’s prerogatives. The memorandum. he added, would be submitted “at the right time,” and if called upon, the Association will explain it to the Government.
Anthony de Rothschild, a leader of the Association, said that he has been given to understand that the Government does not plan any changes in its Palestine policy before the end of the war in Europe.
