36 tons of flour have been placed at the sole disposal of the Russian representative of the London Federation of Jewish Relief Organisations in connection with the arrangements which it recently concluded with the Russian authorities for the issue of Passover parcels to destitute Jews in Russia, according to a communication which the Federation has just received from the Government Department concerned. The flour will be issued in accordance with instructions received from London. Other articles of Passover food, such as sugar, tea, and oil, will also be issued in addition to the flour.

In view of the extreme distress now prevailing among the declassed Jews in Russia, the Federation states, 36 tons of flour will not meet even one-tenth of the applications which are being received, and funds are urgently required for further purchases of flour and other commodities. The Federation has therefore decided to launch immediately a Passover Relief Appeal, the funds of which will also be used to provide Passover relief for the destitute Jews in Poland.
