The 61st anniversary of the arrival in Palestine of the first Jewish colonists from Russia was marked over the week-end at ceremonies at the colony of Mikveh Israel. Several of the original settlers and their families attended. One of them, 80-year old Menashe Meirovtiz, spoke on the vision of the Zionist pioneers and its realization.
A conference of Arab agriculturists opened yesterday in the village of Sheik Munis to discuss extending the Arab school system in the villages and also plans to acquire agricultural machinery, fertilizer and irrigation devices.
