Simultaneous with its announcement of its program for its thirty-second anniversary celebration next Wednesday, Beth Israel Hospital made public a free hospitalization project which has caused wide-spread interest throughout the community.
The project is specifically intended for members of lodges and fraternities who cannot pay for private room service and will commence June 1 to be in effect for one year. Special room of two to four beds will be set aside for this service.
The entire project is linked in a co-operative manner with the second annual Gala Frolic which the “Beth Israel Hospital Legion,” comprised of persons interested in the welfare of the institution, will sponsor during the week of June 2 to June 9. A fraternal committee to cooperate in the project, which is intended also to develop closer relationship between the community at-large and the hospital has been formed under the leadership of Aaron Levinstone, prominent Zionist.
Mayor Ellenstein and other leading citizens have joined in commending the hospitalization project and the Frolic.
The thirty-second anniversary celebration will be in the form of a dinner and more than 1,000 persons are expected. Special guests of honor will be A. J. Dimond, Michael Hollander, Louis Bamberger and Mrs. Felix Fuld, whose late husband was one of the most devoted benefactors of the institution. A scroll will be presented to Mr. Hollander in appreciation of his many years of voluntary service. The occasion also will mark the steady growth of the institution from a small structure in 1902 to its present imposing four million dollar home. Frank I. Liveright is president of the institution.
