The Anti-Defamation League last night awarded medallions to five persons for “distinguished contributions toward the enrichment of America’s democratic legacy.” They are: Charles E. Wilson, president of General Electric, who served as chairman of the President’s Committee on Civil Rights; Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, for her work on the U.N. Human Rights Commission; Barney Balaban, for his role in organizing the Freedom Train; Darryl Zanuck, for producing the film, “Gentleman’s Agreement,” and Dore Schary, Hollywood producer.
