Discrimination against Jews in Philadelphia is at a low level but there are still places in Greater Philadelphia where Jews cannot buy or rent homes, the 23rd anniversary dinner meeting of the Jewish Community Relations Council was told.
Jules Cohen, executive director, also reported that “there is evidence that in their admission policies, some colleges and universities still practice discrimination against Jews” in the Philadelphia area. Deputy City Solicitor Murray H.Shusterman, who was reelected president, told the gathering that the Birch Society “is much more dangerous to the security and status of the Jewish community than Rockwell and his so-called American Nazi party.”
