Anti-Jewish student disturbances broke out again to-day at Lemberg University, where the present wave of anti-Jewish outbreaks started a few weeks ago, and at Cracow University, where they raged last week, and had been suppressed to such an extent that the University which had been closed down was reopened.
At Lemberg University Jewish students were in the University to leave to avoid being attacked by National Democratic students and thrown out of the Faculty of Chemistry, and out of the Polytechnic. The Professors advised all the other Jewish students in the University to leave to avoid being attacked, and they were escorted to their homes by the police.
New anti-Jewish attacks occurred to-day also at Cracow University. A crowd of about 3,000 students held a demonstration in the streets and then proceeded in a body to the Jewish quarter and the market-place, beating Jews. The police soon intervened, however, and put down the disturbances.
The Rector of Cracow University has announced that if the disturbances continue, he will close down the University again to-morrow, and will order a new registration of all students, eliminating the undesirables by refusing re-enrolment to students who are known to have participated in the disturbances.
