Newspapers in Prague announced today that “Jew Law” to be published this week will give the general lines of a “solution” of the Jewish problem in Bohemia-Moravia, which special decrees regulating the activities of Jews in various spheres will be issued later.
It is taken for granted that the Jews will be completely eliminated from political life and public services, subjected to a numerous clausus in the legal and medical profession and placed under various restrictions in economic life. The right to grant exemptions from theirs restrictions will be reserved exclusively to the President of the State.
It was stated semi-officially in Prague that the citizenship revision, concluded on May 1,affected 117,000 persons, including 97,000 emigres naturalized under the former regime, as well as 20,000 Jews, of whom 15,000 had come from Sudetenland. Only 10,000 of the total applied for recognition of citizenship; all such applications from Jews were rejected.
