Anti-Jewish laws, excluding Jews from economic life and the professions, went into effect here today. All Jewish business enterprises were closed and all Jewish physicians were banned from practice, except two, who were licensed to treat Jewish patients only. “Aryan” physicians are barred from treating Jews.

Dr. Arthur Greiser, president of Danzig’s Nazi-controlled Senate, replying to Poland’s warning that expulsion of Polish Jews from the Free City would be met with deportation of Danzigers from Poland, said that the steps taken by the Senate affected only Danzig Jews and did not involve Polish citizens.
