A Daily Mail dispatch from the Franco-Spanish frontier reported today that anti-Jewish riots had broken out yesterday with suspicious simultaneity in various parts of unoccupied France, including Vichy, Toulouse and Lyon. The Vichy outburst, the dispatch said was quickly suppressed, while windows were broken elsewhere.

A German wireless report quoted the newspaper Eclaireur de Nice as reporting a new outbreak of anti-Jewish demonstrations in Nice. The report said that windows of Jewish department stores were smashed in almost all streets of Nice and the words, “Death to Jews,” were smeared on doorways.
