The anti-religious campaign in connection with the Passover and Easter holidays is being carried on with zest in White Russia, reports received here from Minsk state.
A demonstration of Polish, White Russian and Jewish workers was arranged. The marchers carried placards with inscriptions reading: “Religion is the enemy of the proletariat.” “Religious holidays must be substituted by legal holidays.” “Synagogues and churches must be converted into labor clubs.”
The “Oktiabr,” Yiddish Communist daily, reports that at a meeting arranged by Communists, the presiding officer received a communication from a group in the audience who declared that they purchased matzoth for Passover because they are tired of standing in the bread lines. “We wish one week’s rest,” they stated.
