Anti-Semitic incidents continue to occur in far-flung sections of Britain, following the recent rebirth of the pre-war fascist organizations.
In the pottery town of Stoke-on-Trent the shop windows of a hardware store owned by 70-year-old Isaac Rich were smashed, and pinned on the door was a note stating: “If Jews can flog and shoot, we will start and smash them down. This is only the start.” A police guard was set on the shop.
Police are also guarding the shop of E.M. Cooper in London’s East End. Cooper yesterday received a telephonic threat that he would be flogged, after he answered affirmatively a query from the caller as to whether he was a Zionist. Cooper was warned: “You are going to be flogged and your place burned.” Police were assigned to the premises after invervention by Philip Pirstin, Communist M.P.
