Since the anti-Semitic wing in the Heimwehr has until now been unsuccessful in imposing its policies upon the Austrian Heimwehr, prominent Hakenkreuzler, including the national leader of the Vienna “Heimatschutz,” Pichl, have resigned, because the leaders of the Heimwehr, especially Steidle, had forbidden anti-Semitic propaganda at the Heimwehr meetings. Pichl argued that this attitude against anti-Semitism is creating a growing mistrust in the “Voelkische” anti-Semitic circles towards the Heimwehr.
