ENDEKS (NATIONAL DEMOCRATS) ATTEMPTED TO FORCE JEWISH STUDENTS OF THE COMMERCE COLLEGE TO OCCUPY “GHETTO BENCHES.” THE JEWS RESISTED, ELECTING TO REMAIN STANDING THROUGHOUT THE LECTURES. SIMILAR INCIDENTS OCCURRED AT OTHER TECHNICAL SCHOOLS.
AFTER HAVING BEEN SEALED BY THE POLICE FOR SEVERAL DAYS FOLLOWING BOMBING BY ENDEKS LAST SUNDAY, THE BUND’S CLUB HOUSE WAS REOPENED TODAY. STRONG RESOLUTIONS AGAINST THE BOMBERS WERE ADOPTED LAST NIGHT BY A NUMBER OF ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING THE WARSAW COUNCIL OF TRADE UNIONS, THE NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF TRANSPORT WORKERS, WHICH NUMBERS 30,000 MEMBERS, AND THE UNION OF POLISH JOURNALISTS.
THE UNION OF POLISH RESTAURATEURS HAS ASKED THE AUTHORITIES TO FORCE ALL JEWISH RESTAURANTS IN NON-JEWISH DISTRICTS TO DISPLAY “KOSHER” SIGNS. AN OFFICIAL REGULATION TO THIS EFFECT IS EXPECTED TO BE ISSUED WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
