One Jewish student was seriously wounded today during anti-Semitic disorders that marked the reopening of Warsaw University for the Fall term.
The disorders broke out when student Endeks (members of the anti-Semitic National Democratic Party) tried unsuccessfully to force Jewish students to occupy “ghetto” benches in lecture halls. Numerous clashes occurred when the Jewish students resisted.
Similar disorders last Spring forced the authorities to close the University for several weeks.
