Serious anti-Semitic disturbances in Jassy, the seat of Jassy University where Professor Cuza once taught, are reported today by the Hungarian News Service. The police have arrested 20 students who participated in the disturbances. When questioned by the Jassy authorities the students admitted that they had given an oath to Zelea Codreanu, leader of the anti-Semitic youth organization, the Iron Guard, to annihilate all Jews.

In the meantime the passive attitude of Dr. Alexander Vayda Voevod, Roumanian minister of the interior, in view of the anti-Semitic agitation, is being criticized by the Roumanian press. Charging that his attitude is helping the growth of the agitation which is assuming chaotic conditions, the Bucharest daily, “Adevarul” accuses Dr. Vayda Voevod of supporting the activities of the agitators with state funds.
