A new wave of anti-Semitic excesses is threatening Jewish students in Roumanian colleges and universities, unless the authorities take immediate adequate measures to prevent the occurrence of such outbreaks.

This was the gist of an alarming interpellation introduced into the House of Parliament by Deputy William Filderman, president of the Union of Roumanian Jews.

In his interpellation Dr. Filderman declared that reports at hand show that wide-flung preparations have been made by the Roumanian nationalist student bodies for large scale anti-Jewish excesses.

In reply to this interpellation, the Minister of Education declared that the Government will secure safety and order and will take the strictest measures to prevent such outbreaks.

It was learned that at the meeting of the Council of Ministers held Thursday, the threatening renewal of the anti-Semitic student terror was the subject of a thorough discussion. It was declared that the Council of Ministers decided to issue strict instructions to the authorities to prevent the outbreaks. The police was ordered to immediately arrest and bring to trial before the military court all those students who will be acts of violence attempt to prevent the Jewish students from attending the lectures at the universities.
