Despite orders from the ministry of the interior to remove them, posters heralding warnings from Zelea Codreanu, leader of the anti-Semitic youth organization, the Iron Guard, that his organization would soon march into the capital to pay back the government for prohibiting “because of Jewish influence,” the organization’s contemplated march into Bessarabia, were placarded on numerous buildings here for the second day.
While the anti-Semitic posters were removed yesterday on orders from the ministry of the interior they appeared again today. One of them said, “We possess enough power with the aid of the exploited peasants of Maramuresh to clear Roumania of foreigners.” Although the police raided the local offices of the Iron Guard Codreanu did not cease to threaten the government.
