Anti-Semitic vandals broke into the Rockville Centre Synagogue over the week-end and painted the walls with “Hail Hitler” and other anti-Jewish slogans and obscenities, county police officials revealed last night.
This is the latest in a series of desecrations of the synagogue, and a day school run by the Long Island congregation, which have taken place within the post two weeks. Previously the hoodlums had confined their activities to smearing the walls, steps and sidewalks of the building. This time they broke a window and entered the promises smashing a wall clock, and littering the synagogue with paper. Police Chief Joseph Filler has established a special guard to protect the school and the synagogue.
