Although the population of Belgium and Holland have become protty much “Jow conscious,” manifestations of anti-Semitism, at present, are not serious, Max Gottschalk, special European representative of the American Jewish Committee, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency today. Mr. Gottschalk has just returned from a visit to these countries.
He warned, however, that the situation must be carefully watched, since changes in the political and economic situation could influence the general attitude towards the Jews. Mr. Gottschalk said that a delicate situation has arison concerning the thousands of Jewish children who were placed in the care of Catholic families and institutions during the German occupation.
