Anti-Semitism is virtually non-existent in Britain, Sefon Temkin, attorney and member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, declared last night at the National Jewish Youth Conference being held here under the sponsorship of the National Jewish Welfare Board. Delegates representing 325 national and local Jewish youth organizations are attending the parley.
“Anti-Semitism is a virus to which the British public seems to be totally immune,” Mr. Temkin said. “We have our anti-Semites. On occasions professional anti-Semites have sought to sow ill will, but they have had little success, and at the moment their activities are at a low ebb. The segregation that is known elsewhere, the quotas in universities, the restrictions on entry into hotels or clubs are virtually unknown in England, he reported.
