Continuing its policy of abstaining from reporting incidents in connection with anti-Jewish atrocities in Germany, local newspapers disclosed a feeling of anxiety today over the effects of the boycott of German-made products abroad. It is openly admitted that the boycott is being projected by Jews with the purpose of forcing a let-up in the pressure against the Jews in Germany.

The influential Berliner Boersen Zeitung says in an editorial: “There is no use closing our eyes to the fact that boycott propaganda abroad is producing serious results. Gradually German products are being replaced by British, Swiss and Italian products. Even in such countries where there are no foreign firms which can compete with us, this is the case.

“This is especially true with regard to goods which were practically monopolized by Germany abroad. These products include chemicals, electrochemical supplies, textile products, metallurgical products and machinery.”

The Berliner Reichswart attributes the anti-German boycott movement abroad to the fact that “the Jews are making an effort to force Germany to change its anti-Jewish attitude.” The paper declares that “there must be no illusions in this connection, since the Jew can remain only as guest among us Western people, although he is not worse nor better than we are.”
