Anxiety is growing in Jerusalem over proclamations issued under the direction of Arab public prosecutors in Haifa and elsewhere. Of the 51 Jews arrested in Haifa, 45 are charged with premeditated or attempted murder and bail was refused. Anyone holding firearms is automatically charged with murder, the legal authorities not differentiating between a person possessing arms for purposes of attack or defense. In Jerusalem 8 were arrested; 2 tried were given light sentences, but in Tel Aviv there are 22 prisoners including 2 charged with murder. Women and 3 children are among the 15 persons arrested in a house where 2 rifles were found.
Three Yemenites were arrested while guarding Rehoboth.
