A 12-story apartment building to house 220 elderly Jewish victims of the Nazi holocaust was opened yesterday in the Flushing section of Queens. The apartment residence, which has been granted tax exemption by the city, was built with the aid of reparations paid by the West German Government and will be operated by United Help, Inc., a Jewish agency that administers reparations funds.
The building consists of two and three-room apartments as well as a cafeteria for those who are ill or not inclined to cook. Those who cannot pay the full rentals for the apartments will receive help from the Gustav Wurzweiler Foundation.
