Reports received here from the Jewish community of Morocco today paint an appalling picture of living condition of many Jews. Some 250,000 Jews are living in poverty, disease and despair, the reports state, adding that 19 of every 21 children are suffering from trachoma, while only half of all the newborn children have a life expectancy of ten years. A lack of finances has drastically reduced the emigration program, while the OSE is finding it impossible to cope with the thousands who need medical care, the reports assort.
