Legislation designed to divorce Israeli officialdom from politics will soon be presented to Parliament by the Cabinet, it was learned here today. Heretofore, most government officials were appointed on the basis of their political party affiliation.
The Cabinet today concluded discussions on the draft of such a bill, it was indicated. Also, at today’s meeting, Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett reported on his talks in London and in Paris, as well as on the preparations for the Israel-German reparations negotiations which, he said yesterday, will start “in a couple of weeks.”
