Arab boys attacked a group of pupils and teachers of the Jerusalem Jewish Girls’ School on an excursion to Hebron to visit the Cave of the Patriarchs, the Machpelah.
The boys threw stones at the girls and their teachers. The skirt of one of the girls was set on fire and one of the girls was spirited away. Following some difficulty the flames were extinguished. The girl who had been kidnapped was found.
