The demand that if the League of Nations sends a special commission to inquire into the situation in Syria, this commission should also investigate the conditions in Palestine, was made in a new memorandum of the Palestine Arab Executive sent to the secretariat of the League of Nations here.
The memorandum claims that the action of the extraordinary session of the Permanent Mandates Commission in Rome which considered the Syrian situation established an international precedent in reviewing the appeals of the Syrian people.
“Revelations such as those of the Syrians, forced to attention through warfare, pertain also to the other peoples who live in mandated territories, although they do not resort to bloodshed. An investigation in Palestine, where conditions are also not in accordance with the aspirations of the Arabs under the mandate, should be made,” the petition urged.
