The Government today suspended El Liwaa, Arab daily which is the organ of the Grand Mufti. Adifaa, another Arab newspaper, resumed publication following a suspension of a few days.
A conference of Arab mayors, summoned for tomorrow, was prohibited by the Government.
The Hebrew daily, Doar Hayom, was closed for five days because of an article its editor, Pessach Ginzburg, had written criticizing the Government for laxity. It will appear under a different name.
