A Jewish-Arab Association, under the sponsorship of the left-Socialist Mapam Party, was established in Haifa last night at a meeting attended by some 1,500 Jews and Arabs from nearby settlements and villages. The new association aims to promote full equality of rights for Jews and Arabs and hopes to achieve peace with the Arab states on the basis of co-existence.
