One Jew was killed yesterday when Arab Legion troops opened fire on a group of Israeli truck farmers on the outskirts of Jerusalem. The incident took place at Arza, about four miles west of the city’s center and well within Israeli territory as defined in the latest border agreement signed by Israeli and Jordan representatives last March 20. The Israeli authorities summoned United Nations observers to the scene.
An Israeli military spokesman reported today that infiltration of Israel territory by marauding gangs of Arabs appeared to be increasing. He revealed that eight infiltrees were killed by Israeli patrols last week.
