“The keen interest taken by the Mandates Commission in Palestine affairs is due to a number of causes, particularly to the commotion raised by our delegates at Geneva”, declares the Arab paper, “Falastin”, expressing satisfaction at the Permanent Mandates Commission Report on Palestine.
This attitude of the Mandates Commission, the paper continues, is due “to our fair and noble attitude in boycotting the Legislative Council, the Advisory Council and the Arab Agency; to the support we received from the leading English papers; to the efforts of the London National and Political Club; to the work of the Palestinian Arab Executive.
“Taking into consideration the fact that our national work was carried out, on the one hand, against the most powerful nation in the world and, on the other, against the most cunning people in the world (for we lacked strength, time and financial means, while our enemies were rich), we may conclude that we have won a splendid and unquestionable victory,” the “Falastin” says.
“As regards the Commission’s thanks to Sir Herbert Samuel, they are mere words required by politeness, similar to our praise and admiration of His Ecellency”, the paper concludes.
