The Israel Government today handed over to Jordan five of the passengers from the Jordan aircraft which was forced down this week in the Negev for violating Israel territory. The sixth passenger, an American citizen who was identified as Charles Clinton of Philadelphia, continued his journcy today by plane after being released yesterday in the custody of the American Consulate here.
The five passengers, who included four Arabs and a British pilot, were brought this afternoon to the Israel-Jordan demarcation line in Jerusalem at Mandelbaum’s Gete and were turned over to the Arab Legion. The Jordanian plane which was brought down remains in the custody of Israel.
A spokesman for the Israel Government today denied a report that a privately-owned Egyptian plane was forced down in southern Israel and that $1,500,000 worth of hashish was found on the plane.
