Under the title-heading “Palestine Boils Over”, the magazine Truth published an editorial this week scourging Arab leaders in the recent rioting in the Holy Land. It said:
“The fact that the Arab mischief-makers in Palestine first turned their spite against the British administration instead of venting it on their Jewish neighbors seems to show that there is more in it than the virtuous indignation of a people fearing to be dispossessed.
“Most competent observers agree in attributing these riots to the fear not of the Arab toiler but of the Moslem imam, who sees in the spread of content and good understanding a threat to the influence of the Nationalist and the fanatic. To these exploiters of religious sentiment the immigration of Jewish refugees gave a good excuse for stimulating a new flare-up.”
