Israeli authorities today gave 100 Arabs two days to leave homes and shops on a street near the Western Wall. Explosives were placed in some of the buildings last Friday. Israeli sources said 17 buildings would be torn down for “security” reasons. The evictions followed Friday’s explosions in the street as thousands of Jews were at Sabbath Eve prayer at the Wall. Six persons were injured and two American tourists were treated for shock. So far, two Arab terrorist organizations have claimed credit for setting the blasts by using three 10-pound bombs. Israeli officials said the evacuated Arabs would be “fully compensated” and that the Jerusalem municipality would help them to find new homes. The buildings include a court house and a school run by a Moslem religious authority.
