The Chief Magistrate sitting here and in Safed recommended thirty-four illegal immigrants for deportation. Twenty-nine Arabs and a Jew from Syria were sentenced to two months’ imprisonment before deportation. Four Bukharian Jews were among those recommended for expulsion.
An Arab charged with smuggling illegal immigrants into Palestine was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of $250.
