The Palestine Arabs do not consent to any solution that “contradicts their natural right, will fight with all peaceful means the oppressing Zionist policy, will not yield any of their sacred rights and are sure that the Arabic and Islamic worlds support them in being prepared for any sacrifices to protect their Holy Land,” cabled the Palestine Arab Executive today to the Arab delegation in London replying to the latter’s cable announcing that the delegation was returning home since all negotiations with the British government had broken down.
The London delegation informed the Arab Executive that “the British government during the last 12 years had appointed three commissions which proved that Zionist policy was the cause of all the disturbances. The last commission stated that Palestine in its present condition is unable to bear more immigrants and that the lands possessed by the Arabs are insufficient for their needs.
WANT DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT
“The Arabs are united in their demand for a democratic government. We were sent to negotiate with Great Britain, relying upon the Commission’s report and on our well-based rights but Britain rejected our just demands and informed us that she has sent an expert to inquire into questions of land and immigration and will shortly introduce constitutional changes which do not fulfill our demands.
“We think a new inquiry into lands and immigration after the scrupulous inquiry of the Shaw commission means only disregard for our just demands. Therefore our negotiations are suspended and the delegation is returning home conscious that the Arab question is not settled justly by Britain.
DUTY TO INFORM ISLAMIC WORLD
“As we believe a continuation of the Zionist policy means to destroy the Arab nation we are sure that our people will fight this policy by all peaceful means. We are sure that every Palestine Arab will prefer death for the protection of his natural rights rather than agree to oppression. Our duty is to inform the Arab and Islamic worlds who are co-partners in Palestine about the danger menacing their brethren in Palestine. We think the British people sympathize with us despite the government’s attitude.”
