The first three visas stamped with the word “Jew” have been issued to stateless DP’s in Europe to permit them to join their families in Argentina, the Organization Israelita Argentina, pro-Peronist Jewish group announced here today.
The OIA said that stamping the passports in this manner was not a form of discrimination by the Argentine authorities, but rather a means of providing a legal form by which stateless persons who are Jews may be permitted to enter this country. The OIA statement added that a number of other such visas are expected to be issued.
