Argentina will not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a Foreign Ministry announcement declared yesterday, and the Argentine Embassy in Israel would be located in Tel Aviv. The announcement added that this was in accordance with the United Nations resolution calling for internationalization of Jerusalem.
(In Jerusalem today, Argentina’s new Ambassador to Israel, Dr. Gregorio Topolevsky, presented his credentials to President Itzhak Ben Zvi. The presentation was followed by a parade of police detachments in honor of the new envoy.)
