Argentina’s president vowed to help find the bodies of Jewish dissidents killed during that country’s “dirty war” between 1976 and 1983, according to an Israeli Cabinet member. But the Argentine government said in a statement that Michael Melchior’s comments did not accurately reflect what was said when President Fernando de la Rua met with Melchior during last week’s international Holocaust conference in Sweden.
