More than 300 delegates representing 110 Argentine Jewish communities assembled last night here for the convention of the Argentine Federation of Jewish Communities.
The overflow audience was greeted by Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, who said that historically the Jewish people have always been organized, even in the smallest possible groups, to maintain Jewish tradition and Jewish education. She warned that only internal forces, not external ones, could break the Jewish people. Today, she said, the Jewish people speak in their relations with other nations, “as equals to equals,”
Other speakers were Gregorio Fainguersch, General Secretary of the Buenos Aires Kehilla; Rabbi Avigdor Cyperstein, Chief rabbi of the Kehilla’s Rabbinical Court, and Emilio Gutkin, president of the Kehilla.
