Dr. Abraham Mibashan, president of the DALA, central representative body of the Jews in Argentina, Emilio Gutkin, president of the Buenos Aires Jewish Community, and Rabbi Ziperstein, Orthodox Chief Rabbi of Argentina, were tendered a luncheon here by the Jewish Agency under the chairmanship of Mrs. Rose Halpern, acting chairman of the American Section of the Jewish Agency.
In addresses delivered at the affair, the three prominent Argentine Jewish leaders pictured the growing Jewish cultural achievements in Argentina and the unity which prevail is in organized Jewish life there. The speakers especially emphasized the achievements of the Jewish school system and stressed the need of Jewish communities throughout Argentina for Jewish teachers and rabbis. The establishment of a school to train young people for the rabbinate is contemplated in Buenos Aires. It is anticipated that funds for the project will be allocated by the Jewish Claims Conference.
