The DAIA, central representative body of Argentine Jewry, today mourned the death of two Argentine Jewish chalutzim who were among the three Israelis killed last week in an Arab ambush at Mevoot Betar in Israel. Other Jewish organizations here joined the DAIA in issuing statements of sorrow while the Buenos Aires Jewish Community wrote to the parents of the youths, who still live here, expressing sorrow and to the village of Mevoot Betar expressing its solidarity with the village’s pioneering work on Israel’s border.
