The central representative body of Argentine Jewry, DAIA, today exposed another canard disseminated in this country by Hussein Triki, the Arab League representative in Argentina.
Mr. Triki charged in his anti-Semitic organ, Nacion Arabe, that “Zionists” in Argentine have “sentenced to death” General Enrique Rauch, former Minister of Interior. When Gen. Rauch sent a letter to Nacion Arabe ridiculing the charge, the Arab propaganda organ failed to publish it. The letter was therefore made public here today by the DAIA.
In his letter, the former Minister of Interior, stated that, while he prosecuted persons guilty of “economic delinquency,” he had done so regardless “of any racial question.” He stated further in the letter which Nacion Arabe tried to suppress that it is my conviction that the grave problems afflicting the country require a fraternal attitude of solidarity and living together” on behalf of all people in this country. The DAIA lauded the principles expressed by Gen. Rauch in his letter.
