Argentine Jews reacted with animosity to news that Argentina’s highest court believes that Islamic Jihad terrorists “might have been involved” in the March 17, 1992 bombing of the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires. “It’s very easy to blame Hezbollah or Jihad,” said a Jewish community official, adding that the Argentine government does not want to “investigate the Argentines that helped carry out the bombing” because “they probably were cops.” The still-unsolved bombing left 29 dead and more than 100 wounded.
