Following yesterday’s closing of 11 Jewish schools for alleged teaching of Communism, the police today gave assurances no action would be taken against 47 other Jewish schools in the Buenos Aires and vicinity.
Seven of the closed schools are in this city, the other four being in the provinces. A total of 22 teachers were arrested and documents and books seized. About 300 children between the ages of five and thirteen were attending the schools.
Anti-Semitic newspapers are using the incident for propaganda.
