A street in the suburban township of San Martin was named “State of Israel” in brilliant ceremonies held here over the week-end. Israeli Ambassador Dr Arieh Leon Kubovy unveiled a plaquette containing the street’s new name while a band played the Israeli and Argentinian national anthems.
Speakers at the event were Mayor Dr. Alfonso Derdeiro, Marcos Morozovsky, president of the San Martin Jewish congregation, Dr. Cesar Barreto, Under Secretary for the State Ministry of Baires Province, Governor Colonel Bonnecarrere, and Dr. Abraham Mibashin, president of the Argentine Federation of Jewish Communities.
