On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Di Yiddishe Zeitung, largest Yiddish daily in Latin America, the family of the late Matias Stoliar, founder of the paper, decided to create a permanent literary prize in his name. Previously, a temporary award had been been set up by the family. Now the newspaper will administer the award and will present a cash prize for the best book in Yiddish published each year.
