Ariel Sharon opened coalition talks with Israeli Labor Party leader Shimon Peres. No deals were reached at Monday’s breakfast tete-a-tete between the two veteran politicians, but sources said Peres agreed to put Labor firmly behind the prime minister’s plan to withdraw Israeli settlers and soldiers from the Gaza Strip in 2005.
