Ariel Sharon’s son is writing a memoir about the former Israeli prime minister.
The HarperCollins publishing house announced this week that it had commissioned Gilad Sharon to write a book titled “Sharon: A Leader and a Father.” Gilad is the younger of two sons born to Sharon and his late second wife, Lily.
Omri Sharon is a former Israeli lawmaker serving a prison sentence for violating election finance laws.
Sharon served as prime minister between 2001 and 2006, when he was felled by a stroke. His sons were among his closest confidants.
Sharon also had a son with his first wife, Margarit — Lily’s sister — who died in an auto accident. Gur Sharon was killed in an accidental shooting in 1967 at the age of 11.
